Sunday, September 27, 2 pm to 4 pm, Opening Ceremony, in the State Capitol Building Rotunda for the opening of "The Gandhi, King, Ikeda: A Legacy of Building Peace Exhibit". The exhibit will be on display until October 25. The opening ceremony will begin with an Interfaith Service in the Senate Chamber and will then have cultural performances, speakers, and the ribbon cutting ceremony. |
Louisiana Students! You are invited to take part in World Peace Day activities by submitting an entry describing World Peace and what does it look like to you? Submit your drawings, poems, songs, pictures, or videos. If chosen, your entry may be displayed at the State Capitol Building from September 27 to October 25, 2009, with the Ghandi, King, and Ikeda: A Legacy of Building Peace Exhibit. October 1, 2009 at 6 pm there will be a Forum in the Ballroom of the Smith-Brown Student Union on Southern University's Campus in Baton Rouge. The topic will focus around World Peace and "what world peace means to you". Panelists will be composed of 2 international students and 1 American student from each institution (LSU and Southern Universities in Baton Rouge, and the Baton Rouge Community College) for a total of 9 panelists. Mayor Kip Holden will serve as moderator of the forum.
